Who I Am

Photographer, traveler, consultant…. Curious by nature, I love exploring the world around me and capturing its inherent beauty.

I subscribe to something Annie Leibovitz once said: “Sometimes I enjoy just photographing the surface because I think it can be as revealing as going to the heart of the matter.”

My profession is in business, my passion in travel and photography. For my daily work I think about how the world “can be”. In my photography I focus on how the world “is” and people simply “are”.

I’m a consultant by profession, living in The Hague in the Netherlands and frequently traveling for my job. Photography is a creative counterweight to my job. I am constantly exploring different fields of photography, ranging from landscape to wildlife to architecture to portraits. Each subject of a photograph invites an entirely different perspective on how to capture it’s beauty. In my photography I work with a wide range of tools, from a full frame Digital SLR to an analogue camera with Tri-X Black & White film and even to an old Polaroid camera. Sometimes the simplest camera and lens can lead to the most beautiful images. As Ansel Adams said: “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”
